He has commanded us to love one another (2John 1:5-6)
The essence and nature of God is love. It is in loving Him that we are like Him.
Paul opined that if he gives everything he owns to the poor and even goes to the stake to be burnt as a martyr, but lack love, he has gone nowhere. He further stated that no matter what he says and does, he is bankrupt without love.(1 Corinthians 13:3).
Do you love the brethren? How do you talk to them? Do you try to manipulate and intimidate them? You cannot love in isolation.
You have to see and be around people to love them. Men and women are of different types, some are demanding, and impetuous.
Make time for people. Do not squeeze it out of your schedule. The nature of God is love. It is in loving Him that we are like Him.
Do not squeeze time to love people out of your schedule.
Jesus Christ said in Matthew 22: 37-40, love God , love people.
Excluding love from Christianity equals to nothing. What matters is how much love you show to people.
Do you want a great legacy? Love people , try and think and act like Jesus Christ.
Allow the love of Christ direct your behavior and people will notice changes in you.
Your co-workers in the office will know you are definitely born again. You will begin to treat the less fortunate better, your friends will detect more joy whenever they are with you and your enemies will receive more grace and mercy.
Your mood swings would reduce remarkably, your temper would be better handled. God is the symbol of love.
The love of God has for you does not depend on your strong faith or in your good actions. That is the way people love. God is not like human beings. He loves you just the way you are.
While you were a sinner, He died for you. He cleansed you from filth, immorality, dishonesty, prejudice, bitterness, greed.
You may not enjoy the cleansing but He wants you to be like Jesus Christ.
Love one another with the love of God. When last did you call that sister or brother you have not seen on phone?
Jesus Christ had a pure heart, he was cared for by women yet he was never accused of lustful thoughts. (Luke 8: 1-13).
Peter who traveled with Him for 3 and half years, described Him as a lamb, unblemished and spotless
(1 Peter 1:19).
Peter drew his sword to fight soldiers but he lifted His hand to heal(Luke 22:47-52). When Peter denied him, when soldiers spat on His face, He forgave. He was not guided by vengeance. How many people are you quarreling with today? Follow His loving steps from today.
PRAYER
Father, fill me with the love of God for people in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
